Today I’m talking with Kate Coleman of the band Run Katie Run. Kate may be front and center but the band’s new album, Cowboy Boots with Fishnet Tights, which just came out on April 28, deeply reflects the community surrounding her. The band is made up of five friends who first met at an open mic night in Georgia. They arranged and produced the album together, and Kate says she could see their trust in each other — and their friendships — grow as the months went by. They had two residencies at Dollywood and American Songwriter called their music “…a unique blend of rock sensibilities and folky textures... condensed into a singular force of energy and power.
